J.P. Arendt:

J.P. Arendt is the founder and manager of Rise of Reason.  He currently works with a small private lending firm in Scottsdale, Arizona and regularly consults for a real estate private equity fund and a boutique investment banking group.  Mr. Arendt graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University with degrees in both Economics and Finance.

Dr. William Boyes:

Dr. William Boyes is a Professor of Economics at Arizona State University. Dr. Boyes specializes in management economics. He consults regularly with companies on new market entry, defending markets, and other strategic issues.

Dr. Boyes received his PhD in 1974 from the Claremont Universities.  He was an economist with Security Pacific National Bank in Los Angeles prior to joining ASU.  He has been with ASU since 1974 although he has taken time away from the university for visiting and other appointments.  He has served as Chairman of the Department of Economics at ASU, Dean of the College of Business at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, visiting Eccles Professor of Business and Banking at Weber State University, Professor at the Management Institute at Kings College London, and as visiting Professor at Tsinghua University, Beijing.  Dr. Boyes has written four textbooks and more than 45 academic papers.

He received the College of Business Distinguished Researcher Award and has received several teaching honors – Professor of the Year, MBA Professor of the Year, and Undergraduate Professor of the year. He is currently Director of the Office of Economic Education at ASU, working with training K-12 teachers how to teach economics to their students.

Sean Reitmeyer:

Sean Reitmeyer holds degrees in Political Science and Economics from Northern Arizona University.  In addition to his contributions to Rise of Reason, Mr. Reitmeyer writes for his own blog at http://seanvserik.com/.

Theodore Donald Shum:

Mr. Shum graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with degrees in both Finance and Accounting.

Daniel Moody

Mr. Moody graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Economics.  He has held many positions valuing equity derivatives and currently consults large corporations regarding the valuation of their employee stock option plans.  Mr. Moody is also known as the Relationchef and his website is http://www.therelationchef.com/.

    Thank you for your thoughtful insight to many of our economic issues. It is refreshing to hear logic in the development of ideas that potentially effect America’s most productive members.
